I can get carried away sometimes with a good rant. I like to shake my fist at 'the System', 'the Man', and so on. We all do. But sometimes we actually contribute to the very entity that's causing us grief. We vote for the government that's ticking us off, or worse, maybe we don't vote at all. We work for companies that don't recycle, or exploit the less fortunate. We put our money in mutual funds that are made up of corporations that pillage Mother Nature (see how I can get carried away?). Sometimes we contribute, directly or indirectly, to the bad guys, to the agressor holding the spear. I guess I'm saying that we need to take a hard look at how we contribute (or neglect to), to not be so quick to judge. 'The System' and 'the Man' are made up of individual people. We ARE the System, we are holding the spear. This is a lesson/reminder for me.
Ink and watercolour on paper, 5x7 inches.

I'm stunned by your work, and this piece illustrating a wonderful concept of 'We are the System' made me think. Thank you!

Of course the system is made up of us all, that's why the saying "people always get the government you deserve!"
We talk about global warming, then we switch on the microwave or the AC!
We talk about pollution, then we buy the next new car!
We talk about corruption, and then we pay the next person "to get the job done"!
First WE should look at ourselves, improve and only then we atleast deserve to talk about these things.
Peace,
Andrew
