Thanks Julian!
I put together this site myself. I started with the Typepad Theme Builder to create a custom theme, and over time I've been tweaking fonts and layouts and sidebar elements. I try to keep it as simple as possible, and then dedicate a bit of time to making some sidebar graphics (the ones with photos, and the ones with handwriting) that compliment the whole shebang.
